You could say that Mark Rose has sailed through life.

Elk Run’s new sales director grew up in Annapolis, Maryland, and learned to sail from his father at a young age. As a teenager, he spent much time sailing around the Chesapeake Bay. He considers himself lucky to be able to sail around many islands in the Caribbean, Greece and Spain.

At 24, he started his career in sales, working as a yacht broker. He traveled up and down the East Coast selling boats and continued working as a broker until he was in his late 30s.

Mark met his wife in Annapolis. When their daughter was born, they moved out west to be closer to family, who live in Grand Junction.

Mark transitioned to a career in senior living in 2022 as the sales director for a community in Golden.

“I really enjoy listening to the residents stories, where they are from, their life experiences,” Mark says. “I always learn something and it’s interesting to learn about how life was when they were young.”
