Elk Run Assisted Living recently achieved a perfect, deficiency-free nursing survey from the Colorado Department of Health.
The survey followed a comprehensive review of the care and services provided at Elk Run Assisted Living in Evergreen, CO.
“Having a deficiency-free survey means that we follow our standard of services to embody the meaning of our standards into the quality of care we deliver,” says Elk Run Executive Director Miguel Remillard.
“From being committed to excellence, to collaborating with each other in every department, every role and every way to deliver the best quality care we can; having integrity in what we do, knowing it is based on the foundation of honesty and trust; utilizing our resources and coming together as one community while empowering new ideas to make us better (than) yesterday for a better tomorrow. Compassion is what drives us, compassion is what we deliver and having compassion mixed with passion in what we do is what creates quality care and a deficiency-free survey.”
Nursing homes must comply with federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) requirements to receive payment under Medicare or Medicaid programs. The state completes regular, unannounced surveys to ensure settings remain in compliance with regulations and provide safe, quality care.
Colorado Department of Health surveyors evaluated the processes, procedures, general operations and physical plants, as well as information submitted by Elk Run staff. Surveyors also interviewed staff, residents and family members of residents to gain perspective on the care provided at Elk Run.
Miguel says the team at Elk Run contributes to maintaining Cassia’s standards of Compassion, Integrity, Excellence, Innovation, Stewardship, Unity and Respect by embodying them every day.
“By building trust and honesty with our vendors, family members, residents and each other, we show integrity. By sharing new ideas on how we can improve the care and life of our residents, we show innovation. By utilizing our resources amongst the community of Elk Run, we show stewardship. And when you collaborate with all (family, team and residents) while respecting each other’s differences or commonalities, you build unity. When we can do this every day with a compassionate smile and mindset, the residents and family members are benefited with pure excellence,” says Miguel.
