Colors of Fall and a New Season of Change

September 22 marks the first day of autumn. It’s a time of colder temperatures, moderate-to-severe impending weather conditions, and leaves exploding in vibrant hues of red, orange, yellow, and gold as they go through a seasonal metamorphosis and Nature’s paintbrush transforms our mountain landscapes. Fall is especially embraced by Evergreen’s Elk Run Assisted Living community whose residents view this changing season as offering a colorful palette of opportunities of which they can pursue, enjoy, and thrive.

Elk Run Assisted Living, located at 31383 Frost Way, provides comprehensive assisted living services/options (medical, respite, personalized care services, and hospice) for seniors. The community also offers independent living for robust, active people 65 and older who want to enjoy a more carefree lifestyle, and have more leisure time for fun with less home-related responsibilities.

“Many energetic Elk Run seniors currently don’t need assisted-living services. They simply choose to live the life here that most inspires them.”

Basic one-bedroom apartment and/or studio unit rentals, all recently remodeled with a fresh, updated vibe, include: kitchenette/private bath, personal call system/mobility-assistance features and unlimited snacks. Elk Run features an elegant dining room serving three culinary team-inspired gourmet meals daily, a professional low-cost beauty/barber salon, a Great Room with fireplace, and a library with internet service.

“Many energetic Elk Run seniors currently don’t need assisted-living services. They simply choose to live the life here that most inspires them,” said Elk Run Admissions/Marketing Director Lisa Carter. “Elk Run’s all-inclusive amenities, housekeeping, fine dining, and laundry service, result in less “home” work and more free time for residents. Some have cars, come and go as they please, steer their own lives, and participate in our many activities (bell choir, garden and/or book clubs, bingo, scenic/community outings…) designed to keep our residents as active as they choose to be.”

Amidst relaxed protocols, Elk Run requires new occupant health assessments before move-in and maintains staff/resident COVID-19 safety measures. With more residents than ever before in its history the community’s well-trained 24/7 personnel now includes a second nurse and an additional maintenance worker.

“New people bring with them new energy, a lifetime of experiences they can share, and endless opportunities to enrich each other’s lives,” said Carter who pointed out that Elk Run’s current era of change is marked by newly-renovated apartments, new décor, a new website touting new photographs, and even a new Elk Run Executive Director, Kristen Fite.
