Elk Run is a special and caring place where individuals and families come when a loved one needs a safe and comfortable living arrangement. . The emphasis is on providing the best quality of life possible for their loved one. Elk Run is licensed to serve 68 residents.


HERE ARE SOME COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS:

"I'm looking for a place for my parent(s), can you tell me about Elk Run Assisted Living?"
Elk Run is an assisted living facility that provides a comprehensive program and services approach to support individuals who need help with their activities of daily living. Whether it is bathing, meals, medication administration, housekeeping, laundry, a social activity schedule, or simply a safe environment, Elk Run Assisted Living is prepared to meet the needs of your loved one.

"How do I know that the Elk Run Assisted Living is appropriate for Mom and/or Dad?"
At Elk Run, our Director of Resident Services, combined with pertinent information from your primary care physician, will assess the prospective resident to determine if assisted living is necessary, and whether Elk Run Assisted Living is able to meet the individual's care needs. We will work with the family, well before admission, to help answer this question. We understand and will assist in the transition from living in one's own home to living at Elk Run.

"What about cost? What if mom spends her savings while she is here?"
Elk Run Assisted Living practices sound financial management to keep rates reasonable and reserves a number of its units for financially challenged individuals. We are licensed by the State of Colorado to accept Medicaid residents, and will assist you in the process of applying for and receiving those benefits. Of course, if you enter Elk Run Assisted Living as a private pay individual, your funds run out, and Medicaid assistance is required, we will work diligently with you to avoid unnecessary moves, throughout the Medicaid approval process. However, we are not able to guarantee Medicaid availability.

"What should I look for in an assisted living facility?"
Look for an assisted living facility that offers those programs and services that can meet the functional and social needs of your family member. Elk Run Assisted Living is a moderate sized facility that provides the amenities and services of larger facilities, yet retains the cozy feel of home.


Elk Run provides positive answers to important questions.

Does the Assisted Living provide access to the community, local markets and health care centers? Is the care center in a safe neighborhood? Is the environment attractive, well maintained and handicapped accessible? Does the food nutritious, varied and good taste? Does the atmosphere feel good when you walk through the door? Is the staff well trained, friendly and helpful? We assure you that Elk Run Assisted Living answers “yes” to all of these questions. Come and talk to us. We'll answer any specific question you may have. At Elk Run Assisted Living, we want what's best for your loved one.

"What if my family member needs hospitalization, and then, after discharge, some rehabilitation?"
Elk Run Assisted Living works closely with the best home health agencies in the area. Upon a doctor's recommendation, the agency of your choice will come to Elk Run, access the resident's needs, and provide these home health services in the comfort and privacy of your family member's own apartment. Often, this is paid for under the resident's Medicare benefits. We are knowledgeable about Medicare benefits, and will help you access all the benefits to which you are entitled.

"What will happen to my family member as she/he ages in place?"

The phenomenon referred to as aging in place is a common concern by assisted living residents and families. At Elk Run Assisted Living, we recognize the necessity for flexible programs and services that are updated to meet the changing needs of all residents. Our professional staff is trained to recognize and adapt to these changing needs. Functional and cognitive needs assessments are done regularly to update each resident care plan to appropriately address and adequately meet their personal needs.
